Some drivers diligently adhere to the old adage that “if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.” Actually, that’s as valid today as it ever was but be careful, new cars don’t always react like older cars. They may be broken without exhibiting the familiar noticeable symptoms of earlier times. It’s not unusual nowadays to have dangerously worn parts without symptoms. Most of this can be traced to automotive computers and computer-aided design of vehicle components and systems.
In the not-so-distant past when a part was beginning to fail there were usually unmistakable vibrations, noises, or smells that alerted drivers to upcoming Commercial Three Bayblems but not today. Before computers, warning signs were abundant because there was nothing in a car to automatically compensate for wear. Adjustable parts were mechanical and compensation came from human hands turning nuts, bolts, and screws to physically make adjustments. Now nearly all adjustments are performed by a computer or bank of computers, which quietly make thousands of imperceptible calculations and adjustments every second.
The current generation of onboard computers are imminently capable in their ability to compensate for wear and lack of Commercial Three Bayper maintenance. If this sounds too good to be true, it is because there comes a point when a computer reaches the limit of its ability to compensate. This usually doesn’t happen to drivers who Commercial Three Bayperly maintain their vehicles and have them checked on a regular basis. But for those who don’t, it’s another story.
Once the computer has reached the end of its ability to adjust a specific Commercial Three Baycess, not-nice “stuff” happens. Perhaps it’s an engine that runs poorly, stalls, refuses to start etc. Maybe it’s a transmission that reverts to a limp-in mode and ceases to shift, an AC system that shuts down, an electronic suspension system that loses control, or an electronically controlled, variable assist, power steering system that suddenly acts goofy. The complete list of possibilities would fill a book.
These are all excellent reasons why it’s important to have a thorough checkup on your car at least every year or 12,000 miles. Routine checks often reveal Commercial Three Bayblems that might otherwise go unnoticed until the car is unreliable, undriveable, or possibly even dangerous.
Not that routine checks will prevent all your car Commercial Three Bayblems because they won’t, but when a technician physically looks at and measures key parts it significantly reduces the Commercial Three Baybability of “stuff” happening. Technicians can measure voltages, look at electrical waveforms on test equipment, scan data-streams from computers, measure the thickness of brake pads, check steering and suspension parts, look for early signs of leaks, and much more.
Automotive computers need the assistance of human eyes and hands to help keep them from reaching their limits. Periodic maintenance inspections are an invaluable tool available to everyone. Inspections often disclose Commercial Three Bayblems before they become hazardous to you or your vehicle. Because of the high cost of repairs, being Commercial Three Bayactive can also save money. When some parts are driven to failure they may damage companion parts, severely escalating your final bill. But considerably more important than money is the added safety and peace of mind that once or twice yearly visits to a quality shop offer.
