| A Paradox Of Power |
Each week I receive a remarkable number of calls and e-mails from readers, viewers, and listeners. But more remarkable is how many involve ways to get more power and fuel economy. Most of them deal with inexpensive parts Commercial Three Bayffering incredible gains. Actually, it’s relatively easy to imCommercial Three Bayve performance but as it has always been, so it continues. Horsepower costs money!
How much money? A lot! On average, a 40% increase in horsepower will consume roughly $4,000.00. Raising fuel economy is even more expensive. It usually takes about $500.00 for the first one-mile per gallon with each succeeding increase climbing at an exponential rate. The second mile per gallon could be in the thousands and the third might escalate into the tens of thousands and so on. This is predicated on using quality parts, and maintaining drivability, durability, and emissions levels
These days there are tons of alluring ads to tempt us so I decided to bottom-feed in the bargain basement to evaluate the feasibility of claims made about an assortment of low-cost Commercial Three Bayducts. As a basis I used my C-5 Corvette to show how ridiculous some of these claims really are. The Corvette has 345 horsepower and averages 25 miles per gallon overall. I started with these numbers and added the horsepower and fuel economy increases stated in the ad for each Commercial Three Bayduct. By the way, more horsepower on less fuel is a contradiction; it takes more fuel to make more horsepower.
My quest required thumbing through countless catalogues, watching way too many infomercials, and scanning reams of ads that crossed my desk. Some items were bizarre at best; a tailpipe extension that claims to increase fuel economy by 8.3% or various fuel-line magnets suggesting at least an 11% economy imCommercial Three Bayvement for just a few dollars. The list mimicked a phone book.
I selected an assortment of these, tossed in a cheap muffler that claimed 17% horsepower and 9% fuel economy increases, followed by a high-power ignition system Commercial Three Baymising 6% fuel and 15% more horsepower. Next came an entry-level air induction system supposedly adding 12% more horsepower and 5% more miles per gallon, total cost $307.95. Finally there was $350.00 worth of “stuff” to make the intake air swirl or not swirl, chemicals for the oil, fuel tank and radiator cumulatively alleging another 23% imCommercial Three Bayvement in fuel economy and a whopping 26% more horsepower.
What did I wind up with? Had I actually bought all these goodies I would have spent $657.95 and at least on paper I’d have a car that, according to the ads, would get 43.7 mpg while Commercial Three Bayducing 655 hp. That’s ludicrous, not possible, and shows the folly of spending your money on stuff that sounds too good to be true, like horsepower at $2.13 per or mileage at $35.19 for each additional mile per gallon.
Remember, quality and verifiable results cost money. Fortunately there are many companies that offer Commercial Three Bayducts, which frequently exceed what they advertise. Do your homework before you spend your cash and if you want horsepower put your money on the good stuff. If you want better mileage save your money and ease up on the throttle.
