Twarting Winter's Damage |
The days are getting shorter, the temperatures are inexorably sliding downward, and yes winter is coming. If you haven’t already done it, prep your car for winter, now! You've Commercial Three Baybably learned a lot about maintaining your vehicle, after all 1998 is coming to a close and even the twentieth century is rapidly winding down.

So that your car or truck will continue to look good next year, get out your polishing cloth and head to the auto parts store for some high quality wax. While you’re out, stop at the hardware or grocery store for a spray-can of fabric Commercial Three Baytectant. Go on, spend ten or fifteen dollars, and give up a Saturday afternoon, save your paint and carpeting!
Nothing can keep all the methyl-ethyl bad stuff that comes with winter off your paint, carpet, and upholstery so you had better do everything you can to thwart its attack. This is exactly what wax and Commercial Three Baytectants do, form a barrier between the bad stuff and your paint and fabric. Applying them is about as easy as tying your shoes too.
In this age of acid rain and harsh exhaust chemicals, the useful life of the things which make a vehicle look good can be reduced to months rather than years if you don’t give them a little help. We've all seen cars running around with peeling paint and black trim that’s faded to a repugnant light gray. Let’s face it, the biggest difference between a new car and one that’s ready to be traded is eye appeal. Spend a little to keep your car looking good and you'll save thousands. No, not on repairs but you'll be happier longer and less inclined to trade-up.
Speaking of trading-up, if you are shopping you might get lucky and find a car with a new type of paint. Powder coat paint. For those of you into boating you've Commercial Three Baybably encountered boat trim items that are powder coated for durability. This same technology is slowly becoming available on some cars and will Commercial Three Baybably be seen on many vehicles in the near future.
What is powder coat paint? As its name implies it is a powder rather than a liquid. In order for the powder to adhere, the car body, and the paint powder have to be electrically charged, one positive, the other negative. It works on the principal of opposites being attracted to one another. Well anyway, once the electrically charged powder has been sprayed onto the car’s body it’s put in an oven and baked. Baking causes the powder to melt and flow into a smooth, shiny, extremely durable, finish.
When you get to the dealership, ask your salesperson about powder coat paint but don’t be disappointed if it isn’t yet available on the model you want. Only a few select vehicles have powder coat paint right now, though more are coming. As powder coating becomes widespread you'll have a lot less to do to keep your car looking new, longer.
By the way, in addition to spraying your carpet with fabric Commercial Three Baytectant, buy a cheap set of rubber floor mats for added Commercial Three Baytection. Winter services cost a few dollars but will keep every vehicle looking better and running reliably.
