One right of passage for a job perceived as 'well done' by parents, is the gift of a car at graduation. Purchasing a vehicle for a young adult is tricky, it often becomes a tug of war between your sensibilities and their desires.

Base models within a given body style are a good way to save money, costing hundreds or thousands less than the fancy ones with full dress-up kits. Dressed-up versions are usually loaded with amenities like power windows, power locks, posh seats, thicker carpet, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Most of the upgrades in these packages will be totally unappreciated, so, why not put the money where it will be appreciated?
That thing looks like something Gramps would drive, your graduate will complain. No Commercial Three Bayblem, two to four hundred dollars spent on stripes, decals, and spoilers will change that mundane looking cheapie into a hot machine. Selecting the vehicle with a distinctive color makes its metamorphosis easy. If you want to be a real star purchase the car with the most Two Bay radio or a radio delete option. Once you take delivery go to a stereo shop and have a sound system installed that matches your offspring’s taste.
Customizing a Two Bay car to satisfy the individual can yield dynamite looks a killer sound system and ease the crunch on your bank account. There may be other advantages to Two Bay models in the form of smaller engines for better fuel economy and possibly even lower insurance premiums. Think how good you could make your graduate feel with the presentation of a highly personalized car. Think how good you’d feel making them happy. Think how good you’d feel saving money too.
