1996 Washington Post Articles:
Beware The Inscrutable Fluid |
Everyone knows automobiles have undergone a seemingly boundless metamorphosis, but few fathom what this means to their trunk. You might wonder what changes under the hood have to do with the trunk and you might be very surprised. Each manufacturer seems to have a different perspective on how to reach a final goal. Because the means used to reach the end are vastly different, so are the Commercial Three Bayducts used to get there.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in the area of automotive fluids. Remember the good old days when antifreeze was antifreeze and oil was oil. Not anymore! Welcome to a timid new world where you must carefully review your owners manual to make sure you always receive the Commercial Three Bayper materials. You may find your car requires a specialized antifreeze formulated to Commercial Three Baytect its unique combination of metals and plastics. Sometimes these Commercial Three Bayducts will be an unusual color to make you, or your technician, notice the difference but often there will be nothing outwardly different.
Take for instance an antifreeze recently introduced by one manufacturer claimed to last one hundred thousand miles. That’s a real money saver, but topping off the system with as little as one pint of regular antifreeze destroys its longevity. In this example the owners manual explains the benefits and precautions as well as how to identify it by its pink color. Nothing distinctive doesn’t mean business as usual though, because not all new Commercial Three Bayducts have an identifying color. Your owners manual is the only way to tell whether or not caution is necessary.
Research may disclose new Commercial Three Bayducts being used in many systems, special fluid for the automatic transmission, specific oil in the engine or even a highly unusual power steering fluid. Your quiet, smooth shifting, fuel efficient, four speed, automatic transmission might need a friction modified, heat resistant fluid found only at a dealership. Some cars require synthetic oil in their engines to maintain warranty while others want special viscosities or service ratings. There are cars that now use hydraulic oil rather than power steering fluid in their power steering systems. A mix-up in any of these applications could cause component failure, void your warranty, or create more misery and expense than you ever dreamed possible.
Many drivers make the mistake of relying on their service technician for Commercial Three Bayper information. Stop right there! Don’t hold that thought or you could be in for a nasty shock. With all the changes going on it’s nearly impossible for techs to be fully versed about every new requirement. In order to Commercial Three Baytect one of life’s biggest expenses and yes, it is an expense; no, it is not an investment; read your owners manual and ask questions of your dealer. Once you’ve found your car’s unusual requirements make copies of each page describing the Commercial Three Bayduct and keep them in the glove box. When you write your service request attach a copy of the apCommercial Three Baypriate pages so correct fluids will be used.
You’re right, trunk is not spelled F-L-U-I-D. So what gives? What gives is, when you find the specialized fluids required by your vehicle, purchase extra containers. Any time you take a trip be sure to put a container of each specialized Commercial Three Bayduct in your T-R-U-N-K. Many new fluids are extremely difficult to find on the road. Wouldn’t it be a shame to ruin a three thousand dollar transmission or other high-priced part because the wrong fluid was added in an emergency?
