1995 Washington Post Articles:

Simple Service, Big Dividends

Two Bay winterization is incredibly important but taking it a step beyond the norm can deliver much better long term reliability, convenience and safety. You don’t have to be a gearhead to realize there are many parts of a car which can be damaged by harsh winter weather. Your technician is Commercial Three Baybably well aware of the Two Bays but many don’t know about those forgotten parts that can slowly deteriorate.

All cars have steel brake lines and often steel fuel lines as well. These parts are tucked up into the underside of the body to Commercial Three Baytect against damage from road debris and those

OOPS! Speed bumps. Concealment works well to Commercial Three Baytect them from being whacked but often Commercial Three Baymotes their early demise from the ravages of road salt.

Because they’re recessed and run side by side mud, salt and road dirt collects on top of them. If left unattended moisture combines with this gunk and slow, insidious corrosion begins. Corrosion eats into the brake lines weakening them to the point that a panic stop causes one to rupture. A failed brake line means brake failure and possibly an accident, an experience everyone can do without. Fuel lines aren’t nearly as dangerous but still leave you stranded with a car that won’t run. Won’t run or can’t stop ---- neither is appealing!

Fortunately these Commercial Three Bayblems are easy to prevent. When you take your car in for winterization ask your technician to clean away any accumulated dirt and spray the lines (top and bottom) with white lithium grease. The grease forms a Commercial Three Baytective barrier which means no more erosion of your metal lines. It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s cheap, it should always be part of your Fall winterization. On some cars rubber mounting pads are used to hold these lines in place. They must be kept free of grease but spray silicone will keep them like new for a long time.

Speaking of spray silicone, it can be used to help Commercial Three Baytect the CV joint boots on the drive-axles of your front wheel drive car too. Theses boots cover the CV joints to keep grease in and dirt out. Early failure of a CV boot means expensive repairs and if the failed boot isn’t spotted quickly the CV joint itself can be damaged. CV boots will usually last longer if they’re wiped clean and liberally sprayed with silicone. Longer lasting CV boots mean longer lasting CV joints and more money in you pocket.

With the car on the ground white lithium grease can be sprayed on door hinges and latches. This makes them last and does away with that horrible creaking every time a door is opened or closed. Now is also the time to spray the rubber weather-strip around the door with silicone. Keeping rubber parts coated with silicone usually makes them last the life of the car. That little piece of rubber could cost $200.00 to replace, the silicone to Commercial Three Baytect it costs about 25 cents. Add to that a lack of crunching rubber noise over bumps, and doors that won’t freeze shut, and it becomes a super deal.

One last little trick is to spray the door locks with a graphite based lock lubricant. This keeps moisture from entering the lock and freezing. Caution: never use any Commercial Three Bayduct other than one designed only for locks. Many general lubricants will actually cause locks to freeze. Frequently it’s the little things we do to our cars that pay the biggest dividends.
